Scene #1: Margo Cooper (Carol Lawrence) and Stephen McGarrett (Jack Lord) (Walking along shoreline)
Margo Cooper: This afternoon, I asked you earlier about your love life. As I recall, you did a lot of fancy dodging.
Stephen McGarrett: You know me. Always fast on my feet.
Margo: But you never married.
McGarrett: Never.
Margo: There must have been at least a couple of near misses.
McGarrett: No comment. What about you?
Margo: No comment. (Smiles). You what we are, Steve? A couple of uncomittied consenting adults. Interesting.
(They stop walking. McGarrett puts his left hand on her face, she walks toward him, puts his other hand on her face, he looks at her, leans forward slowly and gives her a deep kiss. They hug for a while. (The look on Margo's face indicates that she's happy she's with him and the look on McGarrett's face indicates that he's happy Margo's back and he remembers when she was his girlfriend). (They pull back, he smiles and her and they walk the rest of the way, but this time, holding hands)
Scene #2: Margo & McGarrett in Hotel Room
(Long-camera shot going slowly toward the left and stopping to where McGarrett and Margo are on the couch. McGarrett is sitting up while Margo is lying on his lap (he's holding her up) and they are kissing)
Margo: Mmm. I hate to see this honeymoon end.
McGarrett: Me too.
(Close-up shot of Margo): Steve, how much money do you make a year?
McGarrett: Enough. Why do you ask?
Margo: I probably earn 5 or 6 times your salary and for what? Taking pictures while you..
McGarrett: I know. It's a huge injustice system. (Brushes hand on cheek). You mind telling me what's on that nimble mind of yours?
Margo: Oh, Steve. Can we go away together? Find some isolated, exotic island.
McGarrett: That's what Hawaii's supposed to be.
Margo: I mean an island where you're not the boss cop.
McGarrett: What are you suggesting? You, uh, pick up the tab?
Margo: All right. We'll go Dutch.
McGarrett(laughing): Oh.
Scene #3: In the Hallway of the Kahala Hilton
(Margo makes clicking sound and McGarrett looks)
Margo: Picture of a 28-hour cop on duty as usual.
(McGarrett smiles and walks toward her, his hand against the wall)
Margo: Looks like you can use some coffee.
McGarrett: I'm tired, baby. Maybe later.
Margo: Steve, about that vacation.
(McGarrett sighs and leans against wall)
McGarrett: Margo, wrong time, wrong place.
Margo: All right. Maybe it's the wrong time but you know we had something special going and I was hoping in the cold light of dawn, we could keep it going.
(McGarrett sighs)
Margo: Wrong timing.
(Close-up of Steve looking at Margo)
Margo: Look at us. (Close-up of Margo). Papa trots off to work and what does Mama do? Stay home. Wait and worry.
McGarrett: Mama's got her camera.
Margo: Terrific. I can spend the rest of my life taking pictures of these beautiful Hawaiian sunsets.
McGarrett: Can't you picture me? Following you all over the world from Rome to Hong Kong, changing the film in your camera? While you bring in the bread?
(Margo's rubbing her hand along McGarrett's arm)
Margo (getting upset): Seems I've heard that song before. Anyway, nice seeing you again, McGarrett.
(McGarrett nods his head, puts his hand on her face, leans forward, kisses her. Pulls back a 1/2 of an inch and kisses her again. They pull back and she rubs her fingers along his mouth)
Margo: It was a hell of a 24 hours.
(McGarrett, with a sad looks, looks at her and she walks away). (Margo turns around, looks at him and walks away) (McGarrett, who's upset that Margo left, sighs and goes back to work)
